Introduction:
On the 30th of September 2023, I had the privilege of participating in an industrial visit to Rucha Engineers Pvt Ltd, located at Plant No.7, MIDC Waluj. Organized by our institute for BMS and BCA (2nd year) students, the visit aimed to provide us with invaluable insights into the real-world workings of a manufacturing environment.
Company Overview:
Rucha Engineers Pvt Ltd, founded in 1987 by Mr. Umesh Dashrathi, is a powerhouse in the design, development, and mass manufacturing of engineering-intensive industrial products for automotive and other applications. With 11 plants, 10 world-class manufacturing facilities, and a dedicated R&D center across 5 locations in India, the company is led into the new era by Joint Managing Director Mr. Rohit Dashrathi.
Description of Visit:
Our journey began with a bus ride to the MIDC Waluj facility, where we were immersed in the world of production, management, and technology. Divided into groups, we were led by Mr. Bhandari, who eloquently explained the intricacies of the production process, operations, packaging, and export.
Steps of Manufacturing:
The manufacturing process unfolded in several steps, from the selection of raw materials to the final distribution. Notable stages included buying and selecting raw materials, the use of cutting and non-cutting tools, sheet metal and coil processing, pressing, cutting, shaping, drilling, welding, coating, assembly, quality checks, quarantine areas, packaging, and distribution.

Q and A Session:
A highlight of the visit was the interactive session with plant head Mr. Abhishek Lambe, where students had the opportunity to ask questions, gaining valuable insights from the experienced management staff.

The visit provided me with practical knowledge about starting a business and the challenges involved. Interactions with industry staff deepened my understanding of current work conditions and employment practices. I learned the importance of ensuring employee safety as a leader and gained insights into the global operations of the automotive industry, including regulatory standards and safety certifications.
In conclusion, the industrial visit to Rucha Engineers Pvt Ltd was a transformative experience, allowing me to witness firsthand the intricate processes involved in manufacturing and emphasizing the importance of long-term value creation.
